Peace On Earth
Luke 2:14
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
good will toward men.
The Bible says peace comes when God gets the glory. God is getting no glory from the earth NOW, so no peace NOW. He will get glory when He returns. That is when peace will come, not before.
A "peace talk" today is nothing more than a meeting of con artists to see who can display the most believable decoy. A "peace conference" is merely a reason for as many con artists as possible to get together, enjoy good food and drink at taxpayers’ expense, and figure out how to get re-elected.
A prayer for peace on earth shows ignorance of the Bible. A plea to men to be peaceful shows ignorance of men. There has been no world-wide peace since Cain killed Abel.
Peace now is where Christ is now – physically in heaven #3 and spiritually in your heart (there’s a good sermon subject for a shepherd).
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
II Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Now, think about this: These 21st century peace seekers may think peace is possible, but it isn’t until the Prince of Peace shows up. There will always be wars and rumors of wars until then.
Of course, the actual peace seekers will not be the ones actually going to war. They are the ones who make war a probability, then send troops to do the fighting. They are vicarious fighters at best, never in personal danger.
So you have innocent soldiers, who have nothing to do with the peace process, obeying the commands of peace conference attendees. They have turned their peace summits into preparation of wars they will not have to personally fight themselves. They will continue eating, drinking, and going to “peace summits”, especially during times of war.
The soldiers in foxholes and tanks, who don’t give a hoot about controlling the land of some opposing soldier, are the only ones at danger. Pray for their safety and pray for the destruction of peace summits.
A stern warning to summitteers: Do not try to give away any of God’s holy land to non-Israelites. God will require a price that you are not willing to pay! But you choose – blessings or curses. This is no joke. It is a literal promise from God.
Joel 3:19
Egypt shall be a desolation,
and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness,
for the violence against the children of Judah,
because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Ezekiel 13:16
To wit,
the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem,
and which see visions of peace for her,
and there is no peace,
saith the Lord GOD.
