The Marriage Of The Lamb
Ephesians 5:30-32
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother,
and shall be joined unto his wife,
and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery:
but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Marriage Made In Heaven
OK, this is a biggie! It occurs in Revelation 19:7-8 at the end of the tribulation time. It definitely takes place in God’s heaven #3 prior to Christ’s return. The marriage supper could be in heaven at this time (verse 9) or it could be on earth after Christ’s return (Deuteronomy 24:5). I am not sure, but I know it will be unforgettable - the one and only marriage ceremony for Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:7-9
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Righteousness
Now hear this! His wife hath made herself ready by being arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, which is the righteousness of the saints.
You have the eternal righteousness of Christ and are free from the deathly wages of sin by virtue of salvation.
You are to be instructed in righteousness.
II Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
You are to follow righteousness.
II Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts:
but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Your members are to be instruments of righteousness.
Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:
but yield yourselves unto God,
as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
This is clearly good works for Christ recognized at the judgment seat of Christ for approval to rule and reign with Him as his bride. It has nothing to do with salvation. His wife, those who will rule and reign with Him like Eve was supposed to rule with Adam, hath made herself ready.
Get Ready !
If your works are disapproved at the judgment seat of Christ, you will have no fine linen (righteousness) to array yourself with because you did not make yourself ready.
Revelation 3:18
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire,
that thou mayest be rich;
and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed,
and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear;
and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve,
that thou mayest see.
If you buy no gold or raiment (have no good works for Christ), you will be naked and ashamed and unable to attend the wedding (not naked naked I hope, but not clothed in fine linen, clean and white without good works). And you will not be able to reign with Him because you have not scored any points. In other words, it will be your own fault.
II Timothy 2:12
if we suffer, we shall also reign with him:
if we deny him, he also will deny us:
This implies that the body of Christ (all the saved) is not the same as the bride of Christ (all who will rule and reign with Him). The bride is part of the body, as Eve was part of Adam’s body, but the bride is not the whole body. This is not widely taught, but it makes some sense to me.
The bride will be on the throne with Christ, the rest of the body will be off the throne watching. It beats hell and the lake of fire, but an ounce of prevention would be advised as there is no cure.
Now, the body and the bride could be all the same people. It’s just that the clothed wives will be out in public ruling and reigning and the naked wives will be kept inside the house.
Either way, you want to be the clothed ruling & reigning bride of Christ, having earned your position of ruler-ship in the government of God through earthly good works for Christ. Clear? Again, time is short!
